Juliet Lyons is a classically trained, conservatory-educated songstress who has performed around the world, and currently resides on the island of Saint Lucia. Her lush soundscapes and pristine soprano voice encompass a succulent blend of New Age, Chill Out, Classical Crossover, and World. Her sound calls to mind elements of Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban, Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Enigma, and Thievery Corporation. Pushing the boundaries of music genres, Juliet's soaring voice is the silk that spins it all together, creating something sophisticated, sensual, intellectual, and uniquely her own.
Juliet Lyons grew up in Albuquerque, performing in musicals with New Mexico's leading theatre company, ACLOA/Musical Theatre Southwest, in which she received critical acclaim. Her schooling continued at UMKC Conservatory of Music on scholarship, where she received a Bachelor of Music-Vocal Performance, with honors, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education-Choral.
Based in Los Angeles for seven years, Juliet stayed steadily active in the recording scene doing session work, demos, and guest vocals, performing professionally in musicals, and was also a much sought after teacher of private voice lessons at the "South Bay's Favorite Music School," Manhattan Beach Music and Voice. When not in LA, Juliet was a headliner and lead singer on board luxury cruise ships including Holland America, Renaissance Cruises, and Radisson Seven Seas (Voyager Inaugural World Cruise).
Juliet is also a prolific writer of several genres of music with numerous film credits, and is signed to several music libraries. In early 2009 she also began her own publishing company, Mystic Voyager Music. Her country song, "Stop, Drop, and Roll" captured a Runner-Up honor in VH1's Song of the Year competition, and Juliet continues to add to her list of songwriting achievements.
Juliet is currently living and performing in the Caribbean island Saint Lucia. She released her debut album, My Siren Song, in March 2009 with a launch party that was covered on national television. The CD is currently receiving international airplay and much praise from critics, and the song "Peace Within" was nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award 2009 (Best Song - New Age/Ambient category). |
